It might well be, that you/your box selected due to timeout yes at that one, and thus KDE might fail. I don't remember which dependency it was (png and jpg was there, i just added tiff, jasper and the rest, and then it worked) So people will end up with a not working X11 / no gtk+-2 if they inproperly select gdk-pixbuf dependencies.
